While visiting LACMA in California with Liz there was a series of "paintings" that totally cracked me up. I took this picture on the sly and I can't remember the artists name. It is interesting to think about people's perception of art and how it has changed over the years. I wonder what is selling well today or why it matters. Thinking about this reminds me of Fred Babb's quote, "Good art does not match your couch." What kind of art are you drawn to?

Hello everyone!
I am drawn to many kinds of art~everything from landscape paintings to Conceptual art. I am most curious about the process of creating and how an artist gets to where they are; what their thought process was.
I love art that teaches you something or makes you look at the world differently. Sometimes the artists vision is clear but often times it isn't as obvious. I find that I always appreciate when galleries and museums take the time to write something about what the artist was thinking, making it more attainable. A good example of this was the Museum of Art and Design's "Pricked" exhibit where they had descriptions of each of the artist's intention for the work which gave it greater meaning for me. http://www.madmuseum.org/
Hope that you are all well! smiles & love, Laura
