This is another beautiful photo of Liz's. I was thinking that each week we could post something that you might want to share. It could be anything, a photograph, a poem, story, a picture of your studio, etc...anything that you feel like sharing. You can either upload it yourself or email it to me and I will post it. It has been so wonderful staying in touch with all of you and seeing how we all are so supportive of each other. Thanks for sharing!

As a person who procrastinates knowing that I said I woud use my darkroom this week I waited to an hour ago to make some prints. It was good to have completed a task. I was very productive this week as far as spending the weekend organinzing and decluttering, what a great feeling to throw things away.
The weather was so amazing that working in my flower beds and cutting flowers didnt seem like work at all. I also took some pictures of my beautiful sunflowers.
Next week I will paint 4 watercolor studies of flowers.
I will also print in the darkroom and fill 1 photo album.
Warm wishes to all,
Brigitte
Well, my hopes for the week were to:
*read "Wild Mind" on the plane and try to write two pages a day while I am gone.
What I did was read "Art and Fear" in between typing for my packet which I had hoped would be finished before I left.
*make an effort to get to the Dallas Museum of Art while I am in Texas.
I went to the Modern Art Museum in Fortworh instead, which was fabulous. The architecture alone was worth the drive not to mention Ron Mueck's sculptures. They are super realistic, life-like sculptures that the artist made either very large in scale or very small so that you had a very skewed sense of scale and relationship. I will have to get a link to them, as they are well worth a look.
*For this week I am going to work on being creative in the kitchen and eating well. I will find one new, healthy recipe and actually make it. I am also going to make some cards and send them just for the pleasure of it.
This week I hope to continue being aware of my new surroundings. Yesterday I went for a long bike ride and explored some new neighborhoods in my area. I also took some advice from you ladies and started reading both Wild Mind and Eat, Pray Love. Yesterday, I sat out by my pool and read and wrote for several hours. It was exremely enjoyable.
While reading Eat, Pray, Love I am really trying to appreciate her experiences and make connections with my own life.
Brigitte- I think it is great that you embraced working in your garden even though you may have gone into the tasking feelin as though it was going to be work. I think when you really try to appreciate the moment, it is easier to make work seem pleasurable. This weekend my goal is to buy a few new plants for my yard and replace some that aren't hanging in there so well. I keep putting this task off due to finances, but I know that I will be much happier when I have some plants to surround myself with that are more full of life than the ones that were here. I envy all of you with your gardens!
Martha- I got very sad yesterday after reading your poem and then realizing that I couldn't tell you at school how beautiful I thought it was. I am missing home right now and hope to channel my feelings into the writing that I have been practicing. Martha, you also gave me a great idea to add some poetry into my writing especially when I am makiung observations about my surroundings since I can not capture what I am seeing through pictures.
Laura- be sure to tell me what recipes you come up with. Actually remind me, I have a good one for you to try that I sampled at the grocery store the other day. I think you'd like it! And thanks for the idea for reading Wild Mind. I love the "Try this" activities.
Well...it was really quite a productive week as I painted my "Wall of Inspiration" and moved my office around. It is now a blank wall of color. I chose the color of the clay cliffs on Martha's Vineyard. It wish it was a bit...a tiny bit more red, but it will do for now. I am leaving it blank as I sit and think about what would really inspire me. I am also sitting and contemplating whether or not to just go for it on the rest of the room.
That was a lot for me! I also hiked again...a GORgeous hike way up North and the colors of the leaves are beginning to change and at the top was the most SPECtacular view. 360 degress of sheer beauty no matter where you turned. Heaven I tell you, sheer heaven!
This week I want to continue to feel strong, exercising everyday.
I want to eat healthy and drink lots of water. I have stopped using the plastic water bottles to "save the earth" and it has been quite an adjustment trying to get in all the water I normally drink. The ease of the plastic, run and go has truly been missed!
I will continue to mull over what is next in my office in terms of getting rid of anything I am not using and contmeplating whether or not the color will continue.
That sounds like plenty to me.
Good Luck to Everyone.

My wish list could possbile go from A to Z describing all the pendings things I have to do. We recently moved to our first home and between making repairs, painting, decorating, unpacking, cleaning, etc., the most important letter in my wish list is "M", then you might asked yourself why "M" and what does it mean? As each one of us we go through so many changes and stages in our lives, and right now I TOTALLY LOVE TO BE A MOTHER, the smile and the laugh of my daughter are the most important and inspiring sounds for me. My everyday wish is that I get to be a good and healthy example in my daughters life I know that every single thing, I do, I say it will impact her life. We enjoy creating projects together and she gives me ideas on how to make our home more prettier, next weekend we will be working on our front yard bringing some color to our almost colorless entrance, and next will be to draw some shadows of horses, unicorns and ponies in her yellow bedroom. Being a Mom sometimes could be compare with the art of painting or gardening; because the color will follow the path that you indicate and in your garden you will always harvest what you planted. Until next time. Blanca.
this week has been so busy for me! i really don't like wishing time by through my day at work.. but i do wish away for the weekends. a time to take deep breaths with space and light and calm.
time really does go by so much faster when you're having fun. my lunch break always goes by in a blink.
last week i did pull another starfish, but am not quite done.
i have yet to send that silly package! i hope the train will reach him before he's ten - my goodness!
i did a little work on the room but, the fooseball table is still there.
this week - it's almost friday! tonight or this weekend sometime i am going to begin a new blockprint and maybe i'll get that package out. and little by little i'll get that room cleared out
i've also been thinking a lot about taking courses here at work (connecticut college) to earn my teaching certification, but i need to talk to someone first, so thinking about calling over there either tomorrow or next week.. that will be a bit of a leap for me.
brigette - i also have a way of procrastinating.. i wish i would dive right into more things. i think sometimes due dates make me procrastinate more.
i'd like to hear about some new recipes too, so maybe everyone can post their favorites?
hope you all enjoy your night.
ps. did anyone see the moon last night?
i
Yes, Aimee I did see the moon and it was AMAZING! I also think that it is a great idea to share recipes. I am going to put up a post called, "recipes" and people can post their favorite recipes here any time they like, so if you find a new one down the road you can you can share it. Great idea! Yet another way to live "artfully".
